The Diskette is an item in Haydee used to save progress at a Save Station. They are found in every location in the game, but are very rare and generally difficult to find.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Diskettes are vital to sustaining Haydee's progress, due to the lack of checkpoints or infinite manual saves. Instead, Haydee is limited to these one-use items, which can only be activated at a Save Station.

It is important to collect Diskettes whenever possible, as the difficulty of Haydee makes attempting to work through the game without them an incredibly risky task. Diskettes are also incredibly easy to store due to their large stack size, which allows them to only take up one slot in the inventory. Also, the tendency of the Save Station to be placed directly on top of Haydee's personal container allows Diskettes to be stored in it without consequence, as if she finds another Save Station somewhere else in the game then they are immediately accessible anyway.

Save Stations are the device used with the Diskette to save a game; they are not portable or collectable, so Haydee can only save at predetermined locations. Upon using a Diskette on a Save Station, the options to save to a new slot or overwrite an old one are presented. Saves can only be named upon creation, and cannot be renamed or deleted after this without directly modifying the game's save files.

Once a save is created, Haydee can load it from the menu at any time, to revert all in-game progress back to when it was saved.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Diskette has a stack size of exactly 100, despite far fewer than that being found in the game.
  • The Diskette is referred to as a Floppy Disc in the game's Items.pack, where Save Stations are also referred to as Savers.
